In the United States, more than 180,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Sadly, it is likely every one of us will have someone we know affected by the disease at some point in our lives.
In 2008, in an effort to defy the above statistics, the Acreage Girls Flag Football League (AGFF) set out to raise money to help find a cure. AGFF along with the hundreds of strong, bright girls and women involved in our flag football league the first annual Susan G. Komen Flag Football Tournament kicked off. Quickly the tournament grew to include boys and men.
This committee along with the men, women, boys and girls of our community joined forces with the American Cancer Society and together we raise the money to find a cure for all cancers. To date, the Acreage Flags For the Cure Flag Football Tournament has raised $138,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Congrats to Everyone!
